The apparition of some faces in a crowd of horses [Exmoor ponies] densely packed together on a forest path in dappled light near Castricum, NL.
The title was inspired by Ezra Pound’s famous Imagist poem ‘In a Station of the Metro’:
The apparition of these faces in the crowd;
Petals on a wet, black bough.
Patches of dappled light on these dark and densely packed bodies make the representation complete for me.
I’m also considering this Black & White rendering, which I might even like better:
